Hi there! We are currently in our Sea Turtle Mini-Theme and it is going wonderfully! The students and I have researched and learned many new things about sea turtles, specifically Leatherbacks. This week, each student is beginning to construct his/her own hatchling (a newborn sea turtle) out of poster board and cardboard. Next week, we will finish them by painting and gluing on the eyes. I am extremely excited to see how well the students are participating and cooperating with one another. Once the hatchlings have been constructed and our Mini-Theme is over, the children will be able to bring their individual hatchlings home to keep. Also, if you have any books that contain information about sea turtles and you would like to share, please send them in with your children to class and we will return them when we finish our Mini-Theme unit.
